President’s Awards for Scientific Research 2020 (for publications in 2018)

Warmest congratulations to Ms. G. A. H. H. Galkanda, Ms. R. I. S. Ariyarathna, and Prof. G.Y Jayasinghe on receiving the “Presidential Award for Scientific Research 2020” for the publication “Mold growth and moss growth on tropical walls,” which was published in the Journal of Building and Environment in 2018.

The “President’s Awards for Scientific Research” are presented to the top 100 scientific publications based on their SCImago Journal Ranking (source normalized based on weighted citations), with at least 20% of authors being Sri Lankan scientists with a local institutional affiliation.

Ms. G.A.H.H. Galkanda and Ms. R. I. S. Ariyarathna graduated from the Faculty of Agriculture in the University of Ruhuna in 2018 with a BSc degree in Green Technology.

Prof. G.Y Jayasinghe is a notable researcher and author of several papers in prestigious scientific journals. He is currently the Head of the Department of Agricultural Engineering, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Ruhuna.

The award winning publication is an outcome of the collaborative research project undertaken with Dr Chameera Udawattha and Professor Rangika Hawathura in the Department of Civil Engineering, university of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka.
